don't let Lyme blight your life!

Hi

Thanks for stopping by. I've built this web site with the intention of helping others who find themselves in a similar position to where I found myself - I already know my tale is far from unique. Its purpose is to give you some information, advice, guidance and possible support on the implications of Lyme Disease, something that has affected me and blighted my life - but you can beat it!

All this came from the bite of a tick - I was completely unaware I had even been bitten yet the effect was catastrophic and almost fatal

I live in Newmarket, Suffolk, in the heart of East Anglia. With the help and support of close family and friends I've come through what in truth has been a traumatic time and if you or someone close to you is facing similar challenges, maybe I can be of help to you?

Whatever your reason for visiting I hope it is worth your while. If so and you would like to know more, please use the 'contact me' section below.

Before we move on, there is a critcal part which I now know is common to virtually all Lyme 'victims'. As the disease starts to take hold, weird symptoms appear. The medics appear reluctant to work on a diagnosis and are quick to blame the patient for their symptoms. I was beginning to stumble and had other sinister symptoms. Over 12 months I had two MRI scans and many visits to my GP. After the 2nd scan my neurologist, Dr Christopher Allen of Cambridge, wrote to me rather ridiculously "...there is nothing sinister going on behind your symptoms". My GP, Dr Anthony White of Newmarket accepted this shoddy prognosis and convinced me that my slowly worsening condition was "...due to stress and lifestyle". On this advice I subsequently resigned from my job and made other changes instead of getting the problem fixed. You can draw your own conclusion about the efficiency or otherwise of the medics involved.

The painful lesson I learned is not to trust the medics and to push hard against them if you feel you are not being taken seriously. Oh how I wish that I knew then what I know now!
